HK: ArtiST ’12 Free Festival (5-18/20) starts within one week!   We will have a NY Times write up w/photos for opening day, listings in the likes of Time Out NY, & our Promo Video is getting bites from huge TV outlets!  This note will mostly be news, & what artists & volunteer need to do & can receive.  For a more comprehensive  look at recent exciting plans & developments, including great party/venue details- see this LAST newsletter sent a few days ago. Which also links many earlier updates.

All performers have received their assignments, & remaining artists will get an E-Mail with their placements this weekend!  Maps are downloadable from Monday, & as last year, for festival venues, take a few hard copies,  & balloons, & as many postcards as you can distribute/promote with, available from after work Wednesday  (P.C.s immediately) at Tobacco Road, 41st St. just East of 9th Avenue, Fountain Gallery, 9th Avenue @ 48th St., & Bocca di Bacco, 828 9th Avenue 54-55th St.

Material pick up & meet & greet for those exhibiting with us, performers most welcome too: Thursday, 6:15-8:00Bar Nine, 807 9th Avenue (53/54th St.)  Where we will have our 1st party 6-12 AM Sunday, stage, live music, karaoke: Thursday pick up maps, postcards, balloons, AND lovely building signs: help us hang them, cover a bunch of places, easy & fun, win our gratitude, meat other great artists, network: & hang around after 8 PM for their live music, good eats ‘n drinks!

We STILL have some room for performers: make the PRINT map only if registering this weekend, get likely as much time as you wish for any show at charming Roy Arias Studios & Theaters!  10 distinct spaces, you just must take 1-2 minutes to take advantage of our temporarily free entertainer’s registration atArtistsintheKitchen.org/HKArtReg.   

Give to any talented soul who wants a stage, & promote what we/you are doing on all social media.  Our Propoganda?  All described above, our Sponsor/Media Kits, Press releases, Biz. Plan, many videos, more, PROMOS.  Including our Premiere issue of “AtTheEdge & expanded online version: & our NEW issue willbe ~ 200 innovatively designed pages of fascinating Hell’s Kitchen & beyond incisive intimate features in a style I dare patent as “Elegant Psychedelia”.

Proud to re-announce partnering w/leviathan 39th InternationalFood Festival during our weekend, & recall 1st day of Summer we are 1 of 1000 + concerts in NYC joining MakeMusicNY.  We also will have our Magazine launch party, site TBA that night after our 12 hours of live shows!  Reply HERE w/name, E-mail, Web link, time desired, genre to reserve a slot to play!

NYC Creative Interns is ~ 800 Members strong, has MANY opportunities for apprentices, gain skills, linking Professional biz. folks & entrepreneurs w/students, graduates, ambitious early career folks.  See so many great socials & workshops on career & specialized areas like new media, PR, networking, specific career resources & training.  See ALL past newsletters & current openings/classes/networking chancesHERE.

So besides enjoying our free HK: ArtiST ’12 festival all of next weekend, noon-4 AM (including day walking tour of ~ 100 venues & all parties): we ask our artists who many folks volunteer unpaid to feature- help promote yourselves, come to our Thursday meeting, &/or respond here to help bring materials to venues!  Also to get gorgeous free designer postcard invitations; + distribute widely &/or at your convenience!
