MAPS for free HK: ArtiST Festival ’12 are up at ArtistsintheKitchen.org! Friday 6 PM-4 AM Party starts all: 10 rooms with every form of entertainment at Roy Arias Studios, 300 West 43rd Street, Floors 3, 4, & 5. Also for 10 hours for the next 2 nights; superb live music, theater, dance, comedy, performance art, food & drink. Saturday & Sunday take the map, accessible from Wednesday night on your mobile devices, & tour 130 venues: meet artists in home, studios, galleries, biz., group shows…Then at 6 PM all can celebrate & network with artists at the special parties with more shows until 4 AM!

Saturday 6 PM-Midnight party is at Clinton House 300 West 46th Street & will also feature a free buffet of local cuisine. Next is a Special Surprise Soiree ’til 4 Am, steps away from restaurant row, Showgasm, details TBA on web site. We will have a NY Times write up w/photos for opening day, listings in the likes of Time Out NY, & our Promo Video is getting bites from huge TV outlets! This note will mostly be news, & what artists & volunteer need to do & can receive. All performers have received their assignments, & remaining artists will get an E-Mail with their placements this weekend! Maps are downloadable from Monday, & as last year, for festival venues, take a few hard copies, & balloons, & as many postcards as you can distribute/promote with, available from after work Wednesday (P.C.s immediately) at Tobacco Road, 41st St. just East of 9th Avenue, Fountain Gallery, 9th Avenue @ 48th St., & Bocca di Bacco, 828 9th Avenue 54-55th St.

May 18-20 is our FREE Hell’s Kitchen Arts Festival! Would you like to perform ANY show/set, music, drama, dance, comedy, body paint, reading, etc? Thanks to Roy Arias Studios 3 floors, 10 theaters & studios available during most of the 5/18, 6 PM- 4 AM Opening Gala, if you sign up by Friday, we extended & eliminated registration fees for all entertainers! Take 1 minute & name the genre & length of your star turn for the event we are heavily promoting with PR pros, arts groups & social media. Enter gratisart if asked for a code, & again, you will find out your exact venue & room by the weekend, performers likely sooner. We will honor all preferences for time slots & length of show as possible, & we also have the same 10 hour time range available for Saturday & Sunday 5/19 & 20 at 2 parties a night! Tonight: Invitation to Meeting, Meal, Show & Option to Perform for Film/Wide PR!

Hello folks! I have spoken to many of you recently, some have been great volunteers, artists & performers at our HK: ArtiST festivals, contributed to “At The Edge” Magazine, others inquired re: these things! I send this out from my personal E-mail because many do not open or peruse the colorful newsletters, understandable, since so much junk & good causes that are just too much to handle come in! I would love for you to attend our meeting tonight, 6:30 until 8:00 PM max. at 500 West 52nd Street, ring 2E (Westside Neighborhood Alliance). THIS is what we are doing & the opportunities there!

I will describe our history & mission, introduce folks leading certain areas/Depts., such as Graphic Design, Lead Editors, & Sales. All will have a chance to introduce yourself, network informally, be well fed & refreshed! You will see what we need & if interested, you can help a group or work independently, things like Editors, calls, party & general organizing, PR, Social Media, Sales (top commissions paid)…It is a great chance to work with & for a superb cause, a free grassroots arts festival in the middle of NYC, &/or a visionary magazine. OF course YOU can be featured in a biz. or group show, perform in one of the 6 parties over 3 nights or submit writing & art to “At The Edge”. Help shape &/or participate in our May 18-20 event!

Also, you may do a short performance that our elite film man Johnny Cathcart will form info a video for WIDE distribution as a promotion for the festival & publication! PR man Ofer Caspi will send & advocate for it/us at numerous media & TV outlets, & we will put it on our Web Site, Social Media, & newsletter to ~ 10K folks! Do 1-6 minutes of planned or impromptu music, reading, song, dance, drama…Or just enjoy the show! Bring guests, OK!
